Introduction to FPGA’s for the real world
This is a practical course for those wishing to develop a deeper understanding of FPGA technology applied in the real world, without any prior knowledge. The two primary languages VHDL and Verilog used in industry will be covered. It can also function as a fantastic refresher of FPGA topics for anyone looking to get back into FPGA’s! We will use an off the shelf Spartan 7 based FPGA development board for this course which will also be used for the FM radio course below!
FPGA Based fm radio
FPGA Based FM Radio is a very exciting brand new course specifically created for those wishing to develop a deeper understanding of developing real world products from scratch based on a Spartan 7 FPGA using an Arty-S7 development board, an audio PMOD and a custom built RF front end.
Every aspect involved in creating a product is covered all the way from requirements through to design, implementation and test for both the Hardware and FPGA domains. We will even explore related RF and audio topics in creating this radio.
I work as an Embedded Software Engineer (Embedded C/C++) and FPGA Engineer (VHDL/Verilog/System Verilog) specialising in SoC's and ASIC's particularly at the hardware and software boundaries (mixed signal) within highly regulated industries such as Automotive and Medical for over 15 years.
I have worked for very succesful international companies such as Continental, Blackmagic Design, Seeing Machines and I’m currently working for MoTeC - A Bosch Company within the motorsport industry.
I have consulted under my business, EEView, since 2018.
